Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating is a medical condition known as hyperhidrosis, which involves overactive sweat glands. In this condition, sweating significantly exceeds the body's normal requirements for cooling. This condition can exhibit symptoms in one or more areas such as sweaty palms, feet, armpits, or an overall profuse sweating of the body in general.
A variety of approaches have been used to treat excessive sweating, including surgical approaches, usually reserved for the most extreme cases. A more recent approach is the use of Botox® which helps control the condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands.
